
David Rosenheim Biography
David brings a lifelong love for entrepreneurship, people and the environment to his work. David is a Certified Integral Coach, working founders, CEOs, EDs, high-level government officials and senior executives who seek to develop their leadership capacity. He works with leaders who seek to be more effective in their mission and more deeply connected with those whom they lead. He also provides advisory services to start-ups in cleantech/clean energy and the broader impact space, working with founders/CEOs on sensitive issues including strategy, fundraising, co-founder relations, and board development. David is the founder of JobsWithImpact and host of the Sustainability Leaders Podcast, whose mission it is to empower passionate people with the resources they need to build successful careers working towards a low carbon future. He currently serves as co-director of the Northern California chapter of Environmental Entrepreneurs.
In his former role as Executive Director of The Climate Registry (2011-2017), David was responsible for providing the strategic direction for the organization and oversaw its programs, services and staff. He served as chief liaison with TCR’s 35 state and provincial Board members, as well as between states and provinces and their respective federal governments on climate issues. Under David’s leadership, TCR built GHG reporting systems and guidance for the government of Thailand, the World Bank and several states including California; launched a 20-state process to build the nation’s first energy efficiency registry; worked with U.S. EPA to produce the Climate Leadership Awards; worked with the CA legislature to develop the nation’s first Water-Energy-GHG Registry; and led multiple delegations of Governors and other senior officials to UN Conference of Parties, including a 7-state mission to COP 21 for the signing of the Paris Agreement.
David is a veteran public speaker, addressing general and technical audiences on climate issues across the globe. He is a proven executive with experience as CEO, COO, and director on various corporate and non-profit boards. Previously, David oversaw U.S. business development for a leading Canadian carbon management firm and was an entrepreneur and CEO of two venture-backed consumer-facing Internet start-ups. David holds an MBA with distinction from Oxford University and has extensive experience across the range of key business functions. David is a poet and songwriter and is based in the SF Bay Area where he lives in a solar-powered house by the sea with his wife and two boys.
